Govt Job Diary (“we”, “us”) publishes government and private job notifications, admit cards and results. This policy explains what happens to your information when you read the site, write to us, or apply for a job through it. It applies to https://govtjobdiary.com and every page under it.
The short version
- You can read every job listing, admit card and result here without giving us anything.
- We only hold personal details you type into a form yourself — a job application or a message.
- We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone who has not asked you first.
- We run no advertising or analytics trackers. The only cookie we set signs in our own staff.
- You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — write to [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
There are exactly two forms on this site, and using either one is your choice.
- Job application form, on private job listings: your name, email address, mobile number and the post you are applying for.
- Contact form, on the contact page: your name, email address, the topic you picked, your subject line, your message, and — only if you choose to give them — a mobile number and the address of the page you are writing about.
Nothing on these forms is pre-filled from anywhere else, and we ask for nothing we do not need in order to reply to you. Please do not send us identity documents, Aadhaar or PAN numbers, bank details, passwords or OTPs. We never ask for them, and if you send them anyway we will delete them.
Information collected automatically
As on every website, our hosting provider records ordinary server logs when a page is served: the IP address making the request, the page requested, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse. They are held by our hosting provider under their own retention schedule, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Cookies
We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party tracking pixels. The site sets one cookie, and only for our own team: a signed session cookie created when an administrator logs in to the admin panel. If you are a reader, you will never receive it. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than from a font network, so simply reading a page does not contact any third party.
If we ever introduce advertising or analytics, we will update this page and say so plainly before it goes live.
How we use your information
- To reply to the message you sent us.
- To pass a job application to the employer or recruiter who posted that vacancy, and to contact you about it.
- To correct a listing when you tell us something on it is wrong.
- To keep the site secure and to stop automated abuse of our forms.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to any mailing list, and we send no automated email. If you want job alerts, you join our Telegram or WhatsApp channels yourself — those run on their own platforms under their own privacy policies, and we never add anyone to them.
Who we share it with
We share personal information in three situations only:
- With the employer for a job you applied to. When you use the apply form on a private job listing, your name, email, mobile number and the post you applied for are shared with that employer or their recruiter so they can consider you. That is the purpose of the form.
- With the service providers who run the site for us — our web host and our database host. They process data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Where the law requires it — a valid order from a court or a competent authority.
We never sell your personal information, and we never rent or trade contact lists.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 12 months after the matter is closed, so we have a record of what was asked and what we did about it.
- Job applications: up to 12 months from the date you applied, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
- Server logs: for the short period our hosting provider retains them, typically a few weeks.
Anything past its period is deleted. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. Administrator accounts are protected by hashed passwords and signed session cookies, and the admin panel is excluded from search engines. Our forms validate every field on the server, not only in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, so we will not promise the impossible — but we keep no data we do not need, which is the most effective protection there is.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — and as a matter of ordinary fairness — you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and why;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete what you have sent us;
- withdraw consent you gave earlier, which stops any further use of that information.
Write to [email protected] from the address you used, or use the contact form and pick “Privacy request”. We reply to most requests within 2 working days and act on them within 30 days. There is no charge. If we cannot do what you asked, we will tell you why.
Children
This site is written for people old enough to apply for a job, and it is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will remove them.
Links to other websites
Almost every listing here links out to an official notification PDF or an application portal run by a government department, a recruitment board or a company. Those sites are not ours. Once you follow a link, that organisation’s own privacy policy governs what happens to your data, and we have no control over it. Always check that you are on the official domain before entering personal details or paying a fee.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. A change that affects how we use information already collected will be announced on the home page as well. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
